Day Two of V Magazine

Another five amazing shots today, this time we were much more portable with laptops and battery power as we were on the beach all day.

We had loads of interested passers by wondering what the couture mermaid was about. One woman, upon seeing me walking with the laptop rig, which looks like a prop from the movie Dune, asked "What are you?" After 10 hours in the sun and sand I couldn't form a meaningful answer.

For most of the day we shot to cards as Sebastian likes to move so fast. But we did also tether the Canon on some occasions, giving the good folks a V Magazine a chance to see what it was we were shooting. Also to let Sebastian know if his exposures were accurate with the constantly changing Miami weather and hence the light.

A great shoot, cool people and amazing results, let's do it again some time soon.

Day One of V Magazine shoot with Sebastian Faena.

We shot seven beautifull images on day one at Vizcaya in Miami Florida.

Working on a quad-core mac pro with an Eizo and tethered to the Canon Mark 3ds we shot 1700 frames, nearly 50Gb!

The Canon utility for tethered shooting works very well and is rock-solid stable. The only draw back is that clients have to wait a while to see the current shot as the hugh files that the gorgeous mark 3 produces take a while to transfer over when the buffer is full. Who'd of thought that a wait of about 15 - 20 seconds  would be a problem back in the days of film.

Prepping for a V magazine job

Getting ready to go out on a two day job today and we received a new Canon 1DS Mark 3. We immediately started to test it with a "Canon Utility + Lightroom" workflow.

Shooting tethered with a USB cable takes some getting used to but the workflow is great. We are going to put this through its paces on a two day job for Sebastian Faena whom is shooting and editorial for V magazine.
